The job of rebuilding after the devastation

of Katrina is just beginning!

The cover charge proceeds will go to LovingNeighbors, a network of 13 church congregations in Hinsdale, Oak Brook and Clarendon Hills, that have taken the town of Pearlington, Mississippi and the surrounding areas under its wing.

Your help is still desperately needed

LovingNeighbors.net, a network of west suburban churches in the communities of Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale and Oak Brook have come together to assist families in Pearlington and the Hancock County area of Mississippi. LovingNeighbors continues its work to respond to the destructive effects of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Many of the people of the Pearlington and Hancock County, Mississippi were left homeless and are still reeling from the effects of hurricanes Katrina and Rita and desperately need our help! Now, many of them are living in makeshift tents or shacks made from scrap materials. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is bringing in trailers to give them shelter, but they have nothing to make their house a home.

You can help!

LovingNeighbors is providing Home Starter Kits for families moving into small house trailers. These kits include: kitchen goods, linens, cleaning supplies, and miscellaneous items. Generators are also needed. Please select which level you wish to support.

  • A gift of $500 provides a Home Starter Kit; with housewares, kitchenware, cleaning supplies, linens and bedding.
  • A gift of $125 provides one quarter of a kit.
  • A gift of any size is welcome!
Gifts can be made through your local church,
please write LovingNeighbors in the memo.

Starter kits have been shipped! Your continued gifts will help us continue working in the lives of those people in Hancock County that need our help! Read the New York Times article on Pearlington. See the Shopping List

Four churches sent representatives to Pearlington, LA to survey the damage and to talk to the people. See some of the pictures of their trip.
